Zoho People integration for asset tracking
HR already records who joins, moves and leaves in Zoho People. Connect it once and AssetVow follows: IT sees joiners before day one, office changes become mover tasks, and a resignation opens the exit case with every item the person holds.

What moves, and when
New hires
Added to People. A future joining date makes them a joiner, so IT can prepare a kit before day one.
Office, manager and department
Kept current. An office change opens a mover task for IT; Reporting To becomes the manager.
Leavers
An exit date, a status you mark as “left”, or Zoho’s Exit Details and Resignation forms make someone a leaver, and their exit case opens.
Matching
Existing people are matched once by Zoho id, employee code or email, then kept linked. Nobody is ever deleted by a sync.
Set it up

Settings → Integrations → Zoho People → Connect with Zoho, and sign in with a Zoho People admin account.

Mapping → Fields: confirm which Zoho field holds the department, manager, location and dates. AssetVow suggests matches from your real records.

Mapping → Values: which of your offices each Zoho location means (codes like FL_2_D3 too), which status words mean someone has left, and how employee types match.

Choose how often to sync (every 1, 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours), press Preview to see what would change, then Sync now.

Optional: add the webhook in Zoho People (steps on the Zoho card) for changes within about a minute.
Only the owner can connect, map and disconnect. Everyone with access to People sees the result.
Kept safe
- You never share a Zoho password or API key; you sign in at Zoho and approve access.
- The Zoho refresh token is encrypted (AES-256-GCM), never shown or logged.
- Only Zoho’s own data-centre servers (India, US, EU and others) are accepted when Zoho redirects back.
- A webhook only says “something changed”; AssetVow then reads Zoho again, so a forged message cannot inject data.
- Disconnecting revokes the token at Zoho and wipes AssetVow’s copy.
Not available yet
- Writing anything back to Zoho People.
- Keka and greytHR are not connected yet; until they are, upload your people list as a file.
FAQ
Zoho People integration: common questions
Does AssetVow change anything in Zoho People?+
No. It only reads employees and the Exit Details and Resignation forms.
Which Zoho data centre does it support?+
India (zoho.in) and Zoho’s other regions. AssetVow follows the region your account signs in to.
How fast does a resignation reach AssetVow?+
At the next scheduled sync, or within about a minute if you add the webhook in Zoho People.
What happens if HR deletes someone in Zoho People?+
Nothing is deleted in AssetVow. The sync reports that Zoho stopped listing the person; mark them as leaving if they really left.
Can we use Zoho People and Microsoft Entra ID together?+
One HR system or directory fills the people list at a time. Intune and Teams work alongside either.
