Microsoft Entra ID integration: your directory as the staff list
If Microsoft 365 is where your company keeps its staff list, there is nothing to type twice. AssetVow reads Entra ID, keeps people, managers and offices current, and turns a disabled account or a leave date into an exit case.

What moves, and when
People
Members only (guests never). Name, email, employee id, department, job title and office location.
Managers
From each user’s manager in Entra ID, so My team and manager copies on hand-overs are right.
Joiners and leavers
A future hire date makes a joiner. A disabled account or a leave date makes a leaver, and the exit case opens.
Who is included
Everyone, or only the members of one group such as All Employees, nested groups included, so service accounts and shared mailboxes stay out.
Set it up

Settings → Integrations → Connect with Microsoft. Sign in as a Microsoft admin and approve read-only access for your tenant.

Not the Microsoft admin? Use “Send them a link”: it works once, for seven days, only for the person you send it to.

Choose who to sync: everyone, or one group.

Map office names if they differ, press Preview, then Sync now. Changes then arrive through Microsoft’s change notifications.
The owner starts the connection; a Microsoft admin approves it in their own tenant.
Kept safe
- Read-only Microsoft Graph permissions, approved by your own admin.
- Only your tenant id is stored. Tokens are issued per request and kept in memory, never stored or logged.
- The approval must come back for the same tenant that signed in, so nobody can connect another company.
- To remove access completely, your admin deletes AssetVow under Enterprise applications.
Not available yet
- Microsoft 365 licence (seat) tracking. At exit, HR confirms on the case that paid seats were removed or reassigned.
- Google Workspace directory sync.
FAQ
Microsoft Entra ID integration: common questions
Is Entra ID the same as Azure AD?+
Yes. Microsoft renamed Azure Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID.
What permissions does it need?+
Read-only: users, group members, hire and leave dates, and the organization name. Intune devices need one more read permission.
Will service accounts show up as people?+
Not if you sync only one group, such as All Employees. Guests are never synced.
Can we use Entra ID and Zoho People together?+
One HR system or directory fills the people list at a time. Pick the one HR keeps current.
