AssetVow

For finance and audit

IT asset spend and records your auditor can check

Finance sees the laptop twice: as a bill and as a line in the fixed asset register, and the two rarely agree with what is on the floor. In AssetVow the bill creates the asset, the asset carries its cost and holder, and every change is in a log that cannot be edited.

Sound familiar?

Bills nobody approved

A ₹3 lakh laptop order shows up in Tally after the fact, with no purchase order behind it.

Retyping into Tally

Every IT bill is keyed in twice, and the GST split is checked by hand.

Physical verification in March

The register says 412 laptops. Nobody knows which 30 are “with someone”.

Write-offs without a trail

A stolen phone disappears from the sheet. Who approved that, and when?

Questions to ask any asset tracking tool

Put these to every vendor you are comparing, us included. Here are our answers.

Can finance approve without being able to change assets?

Yes. The Finance role approves bills and write-offs and sees spend, but cannot change assets.

Does it work with Tally and Zoho Books?

Tally by import file (TallyPrime vouchers), Zoho Books by a live push. Your accounts stay the books of record.

Are write-offs approved?

Yes. A lost or stolen item goes to the owner as a write-off for approval, and the approval is in the audit log.

Can our statutory auditor log in?

Yes, with the read-only Auditor role and an audit log CSV.

Does it follow the Indian financial year?

Yes. Spend and reports run April to March, and money is kept in exact paise.

  1. Day 1

Set your approval limit and rules, and your Tally ledger names or Zoho Books accounts.

  3. Day 3

Set useful lives per category and check the depreciation report against your books.

  4. Month end

Export the month’s bills to Tally or push them to Zoho Books, and send the spend CSV to the CFO.

FAQ

For finance and audit: common questions

Does AssetVow replace our fixed asset register?+

It can feed it: cost, purchase date, vendor and invoice are on every asset, and book values export as CSV. Your accounts remain the books of record.

Can we add bills for assets we already own?+

Yes. A catch-up bill fills in the purchase details of assets already in the register without creating new ones.

Who sees the money?+

Only roles allowed to see spend, such as the owner and finance. IT can manage assets without seeing what the company spends.
